2011-2012 SEASONAL FLU VACCINES ARE HERE!!
Presently we offer both inactivated injectable flu vaccine (the only vaccine available for infants and children 6 months-2 years) and Flumist nasal spray (available to healthy children and adults 2y-49y). Like last year, the flu vaccine will contain the H1N1, along with 2 other strains of influenza virus expected to affect our area this coming flu season.
Book your flu shot appointment now. Nursing appointments for flu vaccines will be available on most weekdays as well as on Saturdays beginning October 1. If you have an upcoming appointment for another reason, feel free to inquire and receive the flu vaccine at the time of your child's visit.
We encourage all our patients, 6 months and older, to get vaccinated against the flu. In addition, all household contacts of children younger than 6 months (parents, siblings, caretakers and grandparents) should be vaccinated.

Please remember that appointments for immunizations of any sort are not scheduled for time with a physician. If your child is sick, has a problem, or if you have questions for a pediatrician, please call to inform the receptionist before your appointment so that we can plan appropriately.
PLEASE NOTE:
All children under the age of 9 years who have never been vaccinated against the flu (or have received only 1 vaccine until now) will need 2 shots one month apart.
If your child received only one shot of the H1N1 vaccine last year and is less than 9 years old, he or she will need 2 flu shots this year.
