U.S. researchers found that children who received two doses of the chickenpox vaccine had a 95% reduced risk of contracting the illness compared with children who received just one dose. The findings support the CDC's 2006 recommendation of a two-dose regimen for chickenpox vaccination in children.

An analysis by a British journalist found that discredited physician Andrew Wakefield's retracted study linking the MMR vaccine to autism was fraudulent and based on doctored information about the children involved in the study. Brian Deer wrote that despite claims the 12 children studied were normal until they had the MMR vaccine, five previously had developmental problems and all of the cases were misrepresented. 01/05/11
