Services
To provide you with the most comprehensive service, our office is open six days a week for routine and sick care. After hours, one of the physicians is available by telephone in case of emergency.
All visits are by appointment only.
Prenatal Consultation
Parents are welcome to visit the office and meet one of the doctors prior to the birth of their child. Please call for an appointment.
Well-Child Care
Children are seen for regular check-ups on a schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. These visits vary from monthly after birth to annually for school-age children. The annual examination is a thorough, comprehensive review of your child's physical, emotional and social development, and we allow time for a detailed discussion of your concerns and questions.
Please schedule physical examinations well in advance of deadlines imposed by school and camp requirements.
Sick or Problem Visits
Please call our office if your child is sick or if you need advice. Most calls are answered by our triage nurse or by a doctor. If your child needs to be seen, you will be given the first available appointment, and you will be told what to do in the meantime. Due to our extended office hours, we are almost always able to see you on the same or next day.
Although each doctor tries to see patients in the order in which appointments are scheduled, sick patients are sometime given priority. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience, but hope that you understand and appreciate that our first order of concern is the sick patient.
Adolescent Concerns
Teenagers are given special, private, time to discuss their specific concerns. Consultations with parents and their growing children are scheduled as needed.Laboratory
The office is equipped with it own modern, CLIA approved, laboratory, which helps us in the diagnosis of many illnesses. These tests include blood counts, rapid strep tests, urinalysis, cholesterol and mononucleosis, as well as vision and hearing screenings. Some in-office laboratory procedures may not be covered by every insurance plan, or may carry a laboratory co-pay. Please check with your insurance carrier.After-hour and Weekend Coverage
Our telephone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In case of an emergency in the evenings, on weekends or when the office closed, you may reach the answering service by dialing our main telephone number: 212-534-3000. Your call will be forwarded immediately to the covering physician. Please call again if you have not heard back from the covering provider within half-an-hour.
Consultations and Referrals
If your doctor determines that a consultation is necessary, we refer our patients to the highest ranked pediatric sub-specialists in the city.Counseling
We conduct thorough discussions of growth and developmental milestones, behavioral and emotional progress, and dietary and nutritional needs for all our patients.Multi-lingual Staff
Our physicians speak German and French. Our staff also speaks Spanish, Greek and Albanian.
